On May 1st we played Fitzgerald’s in Houston for the first time. I personally have a history at Fitzgerald’s because it was the club my band in high school played at the most often. It’s been around forever and they cater to all ages, so it was our home back when I couldn’t even dream of getting into a 21+ club. It was definitely interesting jumping back on the same stage I had played on as a senior in high school, but also much different now that I have so much more experience playing in public. Jordan also has a history at Fitz’s, as his band in college played there.
I thought the show went very well over all. As part of our “Living Vicariously Through a Rockstar” segment, Jordan dressed as Iron Man for the show. It was awesome– Hooch and I started the beginning of the Black Sabbath song “Iron Man” and from the second story of the club Jordan jumped down in full-on Iron Man garb! It was fucking hilarious. Everyone was super pumped for the show after that (video coming soon, or check out the beginning of Jordan’s bio). We also debuted a new song that we have been working on for a while called “Let it Go”. Its a raucous funky song that has all of us singing and soloing, so look out for that one! Overall a great weekend in Houston, playing for friends and fans and just having an awesome time rockin’ out Achachay! Style.
We update the world about our latest and upcoming adventures. This includes upcoming shows, the first drawing in their “live the rock star life vicariously through us” series, and some personal interview segments with Hooch, Jordan, and Ryan. Plus, video of ”The Player” live in Ramona CA.

When we stayed with our amazing friend James Leffler, he put us in touch with the brilliant minds behind “How to Batman,” a series of hilarious youtube videos where batman teaches you how to do simple things such as “move past the friend zone” or “order a $5 footlong.” In this awesome vid, he teaches you how to put up a band.
Please note, that in real life, we are very easy to host. We don’t need pistachios or scheduled bathroom time. In fact all we need is a roof over our heads. We try to be very considerate of our hosts, and will even do the dishes for you. We’re very appreciative of everyone who has let us crash, and who will in the future!

We just discovered footage on youtube from Boston and New York on the last tour! Both are Sunshine. We also have an iPhone recording of “Rock People” from Ell’s in Oklahoma, although the quality is fairly low.
Playing Friday night at the Ruby Room was sweet. Check out these videos of us playing our funk medley (James Brown, Chic, and Stevie Wonder – “Get Up,” “Good Times,” and “Superstitious,” respectively) and “Get Funky” – caught on video for the first time ever!
- The owner, Steve, is a great guy
- The bar is really cool, as it the area around it. Well know for being lgbt friendly, I of course got hit on by one of the male bartenders. Too bad I’m taken and straight; he was pretty cute
- It was great staying with Sara and Trevor. They got the party started!
- Plus, they’re responsible for these videos and photos (thanks guys)
- Plus, they fed us delicious food the next morning.
- The place got crazy with everyone dancing and loving it
- The bands The Attack and Archery for the Bling rocked as well.
- We’ll be back, for sure.
